PPB Technology’s CYBERTONGUE® is a new point of care diagnostic testing platform for the dairy and food industry originally developed by a team of experts at Australia’s National Research Agency CSIRO. The innovative device combines ultrasensitive biosensing proteins, inspired by nature, with cutting-edge photonics.

CYBERTONGUE® Technology can measuring a range of trace-level components in complex liquid samples, enabling on-the-spot analyses in a matter of minutes with broad applications to food and beverage testing and analysis. 

“Laboratory Quality Results in Minutes™”

Enabling rapid, easy, on-site testing of quality and safety parameters to the same sensitivity and reliability standards as third-party lab tests, CYBERTONGUE® allows processors to improve food quality and safety, reduce waste and increase supermarket shelf-life. Food processors use it to analyse samples quickly on-site instead of sending them to external laboratories and waiting days for results. 

CYBERTONGUE®’s first commercial tests provide first-in-class precise measurements of the bacterial protease that is responsible for spoilage, limiting shelf-life of UHT milk and causing product recalls, and detection of low levels of lactose in dairy products. Subsequent test offerings will expand to include detection of food allergens, heavy metals and mycotoxins; all of which can be performed on the same portable device.
