We, at PPB Technology, are proud of a lot of things when it come to our Cybertounge® Technology; including providing customers with an easy-to-use diagnostic system which provides laboratory quality results in minutes.
One of our most important value adds for our clients is that they can perform multiple tests all on the same device. We currently offer two tests in market to the dairy industry, with a third in the on-site trial stage. But our capabilities don’t just provide solutions to milk processors, our tests have been used successfully on cream and we’re receiving increased interest from cheese processors.
The recent FHA expo in Singapore gave us the opportunity to explore even more options outside of the dairy industry, and at the Dairy Olympics in the UAE, we learnt about the growing market for Camel’s milk.

FHA SINGAPORE:
Early last month, our Chief Operating Officer, Dr Rym Kachouri, represented PPB Technology at the 2025 FHA Food & Beverage Expo in Singapore. Hosted by CSIRO as part of the Venture Exchange Program 2.0 (VEP*), attendance at this event was an invaluable opportunity for us to learn more about pain points, and make connections, across the whole food & beverage industry.
One of the great benefits of Cybertongue® Technology is that it supports a range of different tests, all on the same device, and FHA exposed us to a range of new opportunities and options for collaboration and investment beyond dairy.

DAIRY OLYMPICS 2025 “DAIRY FOR NEXT GENERATIONS”:
For the second year in a row, PPB Technology took part in the DairyNews Today’s annual conference event, the Dairy Olympics.
Once again, our managing Director, Dr Stephen Trowell, gave a platform presentation. This year discussing “Optimising Global Dairy Supply Chains: Enhancing Quality, Reducing Costs, and Improving Production Efficiency”.
Proteases can come from Pseudomonas, in the form of high levels of planktonic bacteria or from biofilms. Damaging proteases are also secreted from aerobic bacilli, for example when their spores germinate in products made with reconstituted milk powders. During his presentation, Stephen discussed insights into the root causes of excess protease levels in raw milk. One of the interesting learnings from the event was during a presentation by Artem Berezutsky who informed us that the milk industry continues to grow at 1%, while UHT is steadily growing at a rate of 5%; indicating that UHT is becoming increasingly accepted and the importance of quality assurance in this sector continues to rise.
On the last day of the conference, our representatives were given the opportunity to visit one of the biggest dairy producers in the region, Al Ain Farms, who were the first dairy company in the UAE and are the only local dairy to produce camel milk.

Dr Rym Kachouri and colleague Jess Kelly will be attending the upcoming DIAA Victorian conference and awards ceremony in Melbourne on Thurs 22nd and Fri 23rd May. They will be providing demonstrations of the Cybertongue® during the conference, and we are pleased to also be sponsoring, for the second year running, the award for Highest Scoring UHT milk.
The 2025 Victorian Branch Conference will be held at Flemington Racecourse.
