2026 continues to race ahead at lightning speed for the PPB Technology team with barely the time to appreciate our milestones and successes.
It is almost surreal to be able to say that our very first device sale outside of Australia/NZ landed on European soil in late February of 2025 and within just 12 months we could proudly say our devices are present on five continents. It just goes to show the versatility of our technology; that we are able to support the dairy industry across a diverse global landscape.
Not all of our clients have the same needs, but our revolutionary technology allows us to provide them each with the support they require to improve their practices and product quality.
We are continually building our customer support capabilities to provide excellent assistance, increasing resources, and ease-of-use to our diverse customer base, as well as developing our system capabilities to provide additional solutions.
We have always been proud of the fact that the CYBERTONGUE® is capable of performing multiple tests on the same device, what has been an advantageous discovery is how the same test can also provide multiple benefits to our customers, proving that CYBERTONGUE® continues to become an even greater investment for members of the food and beverage industry.
Additionally our research and development customer support is enhanced by continuing software and hardware improvements. We are building support functions, and improving the user experience, through incremental software upgrades and new complementary tools to support reliable measurement anywhere in the world; including new and improved calibration tools and a new negative control.

CYBERTONGUE® FEATURED ON ABC’S LANDLINE:

CYBERTONGUE® was featured in the March 8th edition of ABC Television’s Landline program.
The segment clearly articulates the problems the USD $1 Trillion global dairy industry faces in maintaining quality in fast-moving dairy products. It also demonstrates how customers view our technology and how CYBERTONGUE® Technology is helping milk processors globally to manage their milk supplies. (Click here to watch the video)
Very few of us consumers understand the amount of effort, dedication and investment that goes into keeping our food fresh and safe.

The segment was filmed at CSIRO’s Black Mountain Laboratories and at Riverina Fresh’s processing plant in Wagga Wagga. Riverina Fresh has been a huge supporter of PPB Tech and our CYBERTONGUE®, from our earliest days. They have helped us on many occasions to do early trials of new developments of our tech. A sincere thank you to Hayley Parslow and Craig Shapiro, who appeared in the segment, as well as all the other folks at RF who have helped us over the years.
Aside from showcasing our technology, the segment also nails the strong value proposition offered by better rapid diagnostic tools for the dairy and broader food industry.
A CONVERSATION WITH FOUNDER DR STEPHEN TROWELL:
Chanaka Peiris recently interviewed our Founder Dr Stephen Trowell for his YouTube Channel “The Human Behind the Logo”.
Chanaka says his channel is “A curated collection of stories from the founders and CEOs who built Australia’s backbone. We go behind the logo to capture the grit, the strategy, and the human spirit required to turn an idea into an institution.”

PUBLICATION ON APRX:
Regular visitors and avid readers of our website and LinkedIn will be all too aware of AprX; what it is and what it does to affect the shelf-life of dairy products.
AprX is a Bacterial Protease that destroys the shelf-life of dairy products. We have been educating our customers for years on how it affects quality and shelf-life of their products and how its presence can provide indications about issues in their supply chain. However what’s really exciting is that we’re not alone – AprX is increasingly attracting attention in the scientific world.
Over the past few years, there has been a noticeable increase in scientific publications on AprX and the bacteria that produce it—both primary research and critical reviews.
The PPB Tech team recently read a paper by Aritra Sinha and Alan Kelly from University College Cork. Professor Kelly’s lab is widely recognised for their work on dairy chemistry. The review examines different approaches to measuring AprX in milk. Of particular interest to us was the inclusion of the first independent discussion about the BRET-based method developed by PPB Technology. “The development of this BRET technology signifies a potential paradigm shift, directly addressing the critical limitations of sensitivity and specificity that plagued traditional enzymatic assays for AprX in milk.”
The authors also review the pros and cons of all methodologies, noting that the BRET method: “require[s] further validation in complex milk matrices”. We agree, and over the three years since the original CSIRO publication on the AprX biosensor, the PPB Tech team has focused on exactly this point through work with dairy processors across multiple geographies.
